Story
Guys, I like cake. You KNOW I like cake. I like cake so much that when I typed the word into the search box in my Flickr account to find a suitable photo with which to illustrate this fundraising appeal it came back with 273 results.
So, when I tell you I'm giving up cake for Lent, you know I'm serious.
In fact, I'm not just giving up cake. I'm giving up sugar. Not, like, reading the ingredients list of everything I buy giving up sugar, because who has the time, but I have genuinely given up biscuits, sweets, chocolate, ice cream and fizzy juice. This is like almost all of my major food groups, so give me a break, okay?
Why am I doing such a thing? Well, I've just finished reading Eat Up! by the wonderful Ruby Tandoh, and I'd really like to raise some money for The Trussell Trust. They do amazing work, running a UK-wide network of emergency food banks to ensure that nobody needs to go hungry, including my local food banks in north east Glasgow and Rutherglen/Cambuslang.
I'd really appreciate your support, and I know they would too.
