Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Setting out from Putney Bridge, myself and some other crazy CTK'ers will be heading East towards the city and crossing 16 of London's Bridges before reaching the finishing line 20km (13 miles) later next to Tower Bridge.
I've spent months helping CTK in all kinds of ways, I figured it's about time I did some fundraising!
As you will all probably know, Count The Kicks means an awful lot to me. I see on a daily basis the real difference the campaign is making in bringing down the far-too-high stillbirth rate in the UK.
Currently 16 sets of parents EVERY DAY won't take their newborn baby home. As only 10% of stillbirths are caused by a fatal congenital abnormality there is the potential to save 90% of these babies; this is what Count The Kicks is striving to do, by educating expectant mums on monitoring their baby's movements. The Confidential Enquiry into Stillbirths and Deaths in Infancy found that lack of prompt management to reduced fetal movement was a contributing factor to stillbirth, so the information and confidence that the charity provides is vitally important. How are your donations spent?
£5 funds 350 leaflets to give to pregnant ladies via midwives, Bounty etc.
£60 provides a midwife with information packs to distribute to 10 expectant mums
£100 provides 50 mums with a maternity note folder and Count the Kicks bag
