There are lots of worthy causes and this one is particularly personal to us so thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.
Ed has been diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease, which at the age of 42 was a bit of a shock! PD only happens to older people though right? Unfortunately of the 150,000 people affected by PD today in the UK, 1% of those are under the age of 50. That means they are of working age, often with young families and committments and a whole host of other stresses adding to the pain of the diagnosis.
“We wanted to do something like this to show that having
Parkinson’s might slow you down but doesn’t mean you’re a victim or a sufferer – we all wanted to do something positive. We both work full-time, and having two young boys keeps us pretty fit anyway but we have been training as much as possible for the Tatton 10K event. We’ve raised nearly £800 already which is just fantastic!”
We are positive that a cure will be found soon and our family and friends are an amazing support. But until then we will be taking part in fundraising efforts on behalf of The Cure Parkinsons Trust. If you feel you can support us we would be so grateful.
