We encourage and help the disadvantaged to enjoy a fulfilled life

Story

Hello.

So, The Footprints Foundation. A lot of people think that this is a charity that only affects people in South Africa, but they'd be wrong to think that. Whilst the charity does a lot to improve the lives of people in South Africa (see below) it also aims to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable people throughout the UK.

Not including the direct projects the charity is involved in, The Footprints Foundation has supported or given funds to domestic charities like Sickle Cell Society, Marie Curie, The Evelina Children's Hospital, Cotswold Care Hospice to name but a few

An example of a project taken on by this charity abroad is one that was set up by a local South African lady to feed children who had been orphaned by AIDs or abandoned when their families left to find work elsewhere. She started with a small group of children twenty years ago and with our help aims to feed up to 400 children at the centre. If things go well, the project eventually aims to feed a thousand children a day.

Running the London Marathon, I will, of course, be subject to pain, stress and inconvenience, but I am also raising money for The Footprints Foundation which, if you visit the website, you will see the far reaching effects this could have on other less-fortunate people. Your donations will be invaluable.

Any donation would be considered by me as your own taking part as well. Having run two half-marathons, one would imagine that it should be a walk in the park, however, it is only now that I realise it is a 26.2 mile run. With eight weeks to go, the most I have managed is ten miles. As pain is easily forgotten, I volunteered and it is only now when I think back on what an uncomfortable experience it was that I start to have second thoughts, however, come Sunday 26 April 2015, I shall be able to experience the whole thing again twofold.

Anything you give would be greatly appreciated and gratefully received, as before it would help financially and emotionally to know I have your support.

Thanks

Lloyd

Technical stuff:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

The Footprints Foundation aims to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable young and elderly people, and those people with significant health issues. We aim to support these people during the most trying periods of their lives and help give them the strength and confidence to enjoy a fulfilled life. Our aim is to support through volunteering and hands on help rather than solely providing financial support.
