Story
Louise’s Story
I lost my mum to cancer 17 years ago. She went from being diagnosed to terminal in less than 12 months with neither my Dad nor I having much time to ‘get used to’ this. After she passed away my Dad was my rock, my Strong Man. He was incredibly brave even though this time was just as hard, if not even harder for him than I ever truly realised.
After learning about StrongMen and being touched by Efrem and Dan’s stories I want to raise awareness about men’s bereavement and the support available to people just like my Dad. He wasn’t around when this charity was born, but I do believe doing something active with a group of guys just like him, would have helped him to talk, grieve and possibly move on.
On 13th October Mary-Anne and I will come out of half-marathon retirement to challenge ourselves and run around Dorney Lake for this very worthy cause. Any donations would be very much appreciated and push us to get to the end.
Thank you
Louise and Mary-Anne
