Asics British 10K London Run 2011 · 10 July 2011 ·

Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune condition in which there is an increased tendency for the blood to clot. The condition can cause strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary emboli and DVTs. In pregnancy, APS is a leading cause of recurrent miscarriage and stillbirth.

Story

I DID IT! I successfully completed the British 10K Run in 59 minutes 36 seconds, finishing 3274th out of an estimated 25,000 runners. It was an amazing experience made all the more enjoyable knowing how much money I have raised for Hughes Syndrome Foundation so far. Thanks so much for your generous sponsorship and support.

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 10th July 2011 I am doing the British 10K Run through central London to raise money for Hughes Syndrome Foundation.

Hughes Syndrome, also known as Antiphospholipid Syndrome, is a condition that my Dad has. It is an autoimmune disease that causes blood to clot, and can cause strokes, heart attacks, DVT, memory loss and recurrent miscarriages. My Dad was diagnosed with it after suffering a TIA (mini stroke) 7 years ago.

I am aiming to complete the run in under an hour, and to raise £250. Any support and donations would be very much appreciated, and your money will be used to raise awareness of this disease, and fund further research.

You can find further information on the British 10K Run and see the race route on http://www.thebritish10klondon.co.uk/Frameset/Main.htm

Thanks,

Lucy  :) x
