Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 29th June 2019 i will be falling from the sky to raise money and awareness for the charity 'Leukaemia UK'
Leukaemia is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. It is the most common cancer in children and young adults and it accounts in 1 out of 3 cancers.
As many of my close friends and family know, in December 2009 i lost my Dad to Leukaemia after his second battle with the disease. Since loosing my Dad many others i know have since been affected themselves or their close family members by Leukaemia.
While being diagnosed with cancer- my Dad, like many others, had to go through gruelling procedures; bone marrow transplants, blood fusions, chemotherapy. I remember being told that my Dad was then not allowed out of hospital and had to be kept in 'insolation' due to his extremely low immune system. He was kept in his own room at Darenth Valley Hospital and I now can't imagine how lonely and hard this must of been for my Dad that was so family orientated.
Sadly, my Dads battle with Leukaemia came to a very sudden end on 21st December 2009. He was surrounded by everyone who loved him.
My aim is to raise £450 for the charity to help support, research and fund emotional support lines to those affected by Leukaemia.
Over the last 40 years Leukaemia UK have helped to make groundbreaking changes to blood cancer care. Less than three decades ago, there were no beds dedicated to the care of leukaemia patients at King's Hospital.
I would be so grateful if you could donate to my cause, nothing is too little!
Or perhaps if you are not able to donate by £££ I would please ask (if you do not already) to sign up and 'Give Blood' so many people need blood donations and this was something my Dad heavily relied on- people donating!
Thank you for taking the time to read my story,
This one is for you Dad xx
