Event: Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019, on 8 September 2019

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have always enjoyed running but never actually pushed myself to achieve more than a 10k! So this year I wanted to aim for something bigger... the Great North Run!

I love the outdoors and fitness, from mountain biking to walking/hiking & horse riding, but along with that I am a huge animal lover. I have 2 labradors Betsy & Gunner who will be joining me in my training for the race and will be my mascots along with my baby daughter and husband.

So I wanted to be able to give something back to the animals of Lancashire, and as we adopted our youngest Labrador Gunner from the RSPCA East Lancashire branch I wanted to be able to help them with their on going amazing work they do for so many animals. The team there are brilliant and they care so much for the animals they receive. I want to raise money to help more animals be rehomed into a loving family they deserve or to receive the veterinary treatment many of them need. The RSPCA is a charity close to me and my family and many of my friends & colleagues.

Please help me to raise some money for this amazing charity. Keep your eyes out for me running the hills of the Ribble valley! I am hopeful they will help me prepare for that last stretch of the race!!

About the charity

The RSPCA Lancs East branch works to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals in the branch area, including Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Clitheroe, Nelson, Colne & Darwen. From it's Animal Centre in Altham it rehomes animals to caring new owners. We do not put healthy animals to sleep.
