Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 20th May seven intrepid ‘cyclists’ will head out from Morecambe early (very early) in the morning and attempt to cycle the 170 miles of the ‘Way of the Roses’ to Bridlington before the clock strikes midnight, but hopefully before the pub shuts!!! The cyclists / mad fools taking on this challenge are Myself,
Tom, John, Steve, Tony, Neil and Chris ably supported by Tom’s other half Emma who is offering much needed support along the way.
So why are we doing this?
It is to raise much needed funds and awareness for the Samaritans, especially with it being mental health week and also with the sharp rise in people needing support. Someone in need contacts the Samaritans every six seconds, that is a lot of calls and without the support they offer people can take the small steps to get their life back on track.
The people who volunteer for the Samaritans give up so much to help those who need to talk when they are at their lowest ebb and I have seen the commitment with two of my friends who volunteer for the Samaritans and the self-sacrifice they show in helping others is phenomenal and humbling.
