My Dad had no idea that when he became seriously ill he would give me an idea.  And that was to set up a charity to help other people like him who may need legal help when their world has been turned upside down due to the diagnosis of serious illness such as cancer or dementia.  Unbeknown to me there was no other bespoke legal charity in the UK providing free legal help to people diagnosed with life threatening/life limiting illness and so I set up LegaCare in 2010.   As a result of my Dad, LegaCare has helped over 2000 families.  My Dad sadly died in September 2013.  It was the week before I did my first GNR for LegaCare (I cant tell you how heartbreaking it was getting over the finishing line).  Please help us to help others who need legal help such as drafting a will, organising guardianship for their children, sorting out debt, rent and mortgage issues, as well as holistic stuff like arranging patients funerals who have no family, clearing their homes and organising new homes for their pets.
