We support families through baby loss to honour and respect all babies forever

Story

On the 3rd of November 2018 at 21 weeks pregnant, we gave birth to our beautiful baby daughter Ella who was stillborn.

We went for our 20 week scan excited to see our baby again, but received the devastating news that she was just too unwell to continue the pregnancy. We were admitted to the Princess Royal Maternity, Glasgow on Saturday the 3rd of November to be induced and at 1906 that night our daughter Ella was born. When we arrived at the hospital that morning we were taken to a private and peaceful room where we were able to say goodbye to our baby girl. Before being discharged the next day our midwife gave us a memory box provided by the SiMBA charity. This box included our baby’s hand and foot prints, knitted blankets and teddies, a candle and photos the midwife had taken.. memories we will never forget.

The SiMBA charity do lots to help support families who have lost babies at any stage. They provide support groups, memory boxes, family rooms in hospitals and trees of tranquility. We have our personalised leaf which will be attached to the tree of tranquility which allows us a place to go to remember our baby girl.

We have decided to fundraise for this amazing charity by walking 7 Munro’s in 1 day!! We are doing the Ben Lawers Circuit on the 3rd May, 6 months after Ella was born. We have only walked up one Munro so far so this will be a big challenge for us. SiMBA have helped us through the hardest time and if it wasn’t for the SiMBA charity we might not have these treasured memories of our baby girl.

We appreciate any donations made, thank you
