Story

Ironmansterdam - Part 2 - El Gingero's Revenge

That's right, after the completion of Ironmansterdam part 1, El Gingero will be taking on Bournmouth Half Marathon on October 6th to raise money for Macmillan Caring Locally to help the Brick by Brick appeal at the Christchurch Palliative care unit.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I am aware that many people are doing things for charity these days and it is very much appreciated that you have come to the Just Giving page, and any spare donations go a long way towards this smaller charity who have been very kind in their care of a dear friend's mother, and my very own Mrs Robinson, Cheryl.

El Gingero has once again thrown down the gauntlet and challenged me to break myself, this time he has added a bit of European flair to the challenge in a bid to send me overseas for good.

The details of the challenge can be found at www.abigchallenge.com

A note from Charlene, (Cheryl's daughter)

Hello everyone x

Thank you for taking the time to read this and supporting our dear friend Martyn on his challenge to help support an amazing charity the Macmillan unit in Christchurch which is currently supporting our beautiful Mum Cheryl x a year ago on mum's 60th birthday her routine bowel screening came back as stage 4 cancer devastating news for all the family. We have lived in hope for a year on mum's journey with chemo and treatment along with operations. Then we received the even more devastating news that mum would need to be in palliative care as there is nothing else that can be done to help mum get better. Every day is a blessing and time spent together as a family is so precious and important now, and doing all of this in the environment that the hospice has created is so lovely. It's a lovely environment to bring friends and family in along with children and it feels like a community as everyone is there to support the whole family, Mum is receiving outstanding care from the lovely nurses around the clock and they always welcome us all with open arms making us feel comfortable. The garden is a special place with a pond and birds and beautiful flowers, it's the simple things in life like a cuppa tea with your loved ones at this time which helps everyone get through x so please donate what you wish to help support family's and patients that use this outstanding charity xx
