A year ago, my mom, brother, sister and I lost Adly Derhally (pictured) unexpectedly within a very short window to cancer.

In September I will take part in a 10K run in Cape Town, South Africa in memory of my father and for a cause that was very dear to him: helping Palestinians.

I'm hoping to raise $5000 that will go directly to the UK-based PACES charity which provides healthy, structured after-school sports programs for Palestinian girls and boys ages 7-16 years, living in refugee camps and in the most marginalized and vulnerable areas in Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon. Since its establishment, PACES has reached out and served over 30,000 children, 2,000 young female and male coaches, and over 100 local sports clubs and other community based organizations.
