Story

A message from Mum!

Matthew - just look how far you have come (and run!) since
you started this epic challenge in the snow and bitter cold in January!  I am so proud that you asked me to choose the charity and how you have stuck with the challenge throughout the year with unfortunately losing Nick as a running partner through injury,  running in Bath and Ryde completely on your own with no spectator support and then struggling yourself during the last 2 runs with your Achilles injury. I know
you have been disappointed with some of your times but they are not important - you have had to dig deep at times for motivation (with the help of the “You, Me and the Big C” podcasts!) and should be so proud of what you have achieved (plus you’re still continuing after tomorrow with running the Farnborough half in January!) Dad and I look forward to
celebrating with you tomorrow at the finish line of run number 12! We love you lots Xxxxxx

I would also like to personally thank everyone for their generous
donations.  The new breast cancer and scanning unit is currently under construction at Frimley Park hospital and will make such a huge difference to the way the dedicated team can offer their services to the 6000+ people who are referred to the department every year.

Thank you too to Nick, Tom, Maj and all Matt’s friends who
have supported him throughout the year – you have all been amazing!

One of the hardest things about getting breast cancer was
breaking the news to Matt and Katie because I knew how upsetting it would be for them; until you experience this dreadful disease first hand you have no idea of the impact it has on those closest to you.  The continuous support I have had from all my family and friends has been truly overwhelming and I love you all.

Wishing everybody a very happy Christmas and a healthy 2019.

Debbie xxxx

We are raising money for the Breast Cancer Care Unit that is currently being built at Frimley Park Hospital.

We have taken on the challenge of running 12 half marathons in 2018 to raise money for a new breast cancer care unit at Frimley Park Hospital.

Late last year my Mum (Debbie Roberts) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Throughout the time of her treatment she showed amazing strength and did the whole family very proud.

Mum has already benefited from funds already raised for Frimley Health by being the first person to have a mammogram using their new 3D scanner as her cancer wasn't easily detected on a normal mammogram.

I have decided to do this challenge to raise some money to help support other people that have to fight against cancer and the fact that Nick Blake is helping me do the same is amazing and I'm very grateful for his help.

So far we have planned:
