Following on from her 2018 challenge where Mavis Paterson took part in a 24 hour cycle challenge around North Rhins on the outskirts of Stranraer, Mavis has set herself a bigger challenge.

Starting on Friday 24th May alongside her friend Heather Curley, at 81 years of age Mavis is setting out to be the oldest women ever to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats.

The challenge is in memory of her 3 adult children who died 4 years apart from each other; Sandy in 2012, Katie in 2013 and Bob in 2016. All of them were in their 40s. 

Mavis suffered unimaginable grief but received wonderful support from friends and relatives. Mavis is very grateful to the Macmillan Fundraising Committee in Stranraer who have always been a constant support for her and have always backed her "daft ideas".
