Clemmies evening - Brompton Fountain · 14 February 2019

We support children's cardiac and respiratory care at Royal Brompton Hospital and its network of partner hospitals throughout London and the Southeast. Our charity works closely with NHS teams to provide vital resources and medical equipment for patients and wellbeing services for their families.

Story

All of you know Clemmie’s story but we found out at our 20 week scan that she had a condition called tetralogy of fallot (a congenital heart defect) a large hole in the centre of her heart and number of further complications which meant she had to have open heart surgery at the age of 5 months old.
An 8 hour operation ensued with an amazing surgeon, Olivier Ghez and into ICU where she recovered.
With early diagnosis followed by appropriate surgical treatment, most children and adults who have Tetralogy of Fallot live relatively normal lives, though she will require medical care throughout life and might have restrictions on exercise- but let’s face it with us as parents I’m doubting we’ve produced an Olympic athlete!

We are indebted to the Brompton Hospital and their staff, and in showing gratitude we have decided to raise as much as possible for the Brompton Fountain, the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. This event was  inspired by a great friends daughter, whom aged 6, independently held a bake sale selling cup cakes outside her house raising £19 for Clemmie's hospital. We thought we should get our act together and follow suit!

We really hope to see as many of you as possible and support the Brompton Fountain. We will have a raffle on the evening and lots of great prizes have been donated.

Lots of love
