Lyn Jones was the team manager who transformed our football club in the late eighties when the Martyrs were the best non-league team in Wales and maybe in the UK. 

Lyn sadly passed away recently and the chosen charity at his funeral was the Alzheimer's Society.

Every year on the weekend closest to 14th July the fans of Merthyr Town undertake a sponsored walk to celebrate the birthday of our Supporters' Trust which saved the club in 2010.

This year we walk in memory of our legendary manager Mr. Lyn Jones and to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society which is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.

Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
