Thanks for taking the time to visit our  MiND OVER MATTER JUST giving page ...

Sadly on the first day of this year, my dad, Ian Stanley Davies, was taken by the horrendous illness that is Motor Neurone Disease. It is in his memory that we have taken up this challenge. 

Starting from a drunken chat amongst friends in the pub, we came up with the terrible idea of running the 200 Kms over 5 days. After many nights deliberating and debating the safest route we came up with the plan of running from Valentia Wharf in Sydney to the Reptile Park in Gosford. I never imagined that so many people would take up the challenge and currently there are 10 of us involved. A true testament of great friends, love of my dad and spirit to overcome this disease.

It will be no easy feat but thinking about what you have to go through when you have MND, this pales by comparison.

Currently there is no cure for MND which makes living with it all the harder. I am sure it has touched the lives of every person reading this even though it is a 'rare disease'. We believe Doddie's Foundation is trying their best to help find a cure and as such we have decided to support this.

I am sure, as we start this endeavour it definitely will be mind over matter!!
