Boom! - Hoorah you on my page now show me the money!

I want to be honest with you, since May last year I have trained hard, really hard, I have so far lost over 3.5 stone or for those outside UK 49lbs, to be more accurate, I've lost 52lbs, it been tough especially training in the winter, dark mornings, cold mornings, wet mornings and icy morning,s its a joy, it does help to have a very patient wife and knowing this is the last time (I'm sure of it aren't i?) that I'll do the London Marathon, after all I'm 45, so I'll need to do something else like golf or golf.

Anyway enough about me I want to thank you for your time and hopefully your money. I'll be honest I had not heard of the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund either but when I was asked to run for them I looked in to them and what a great charity they are, below is what they do. 

It was set up after Ron suddenly died by his wife in 1991 and the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund is to help young British athletes fulfil their potential. Since then, supported by the Trustees and a network of volunteers, the fund has raised and awarded over £1.5 million in small but significant grants to several thousand talented young British athletes.

Each grant is designed to make a difference, helping the recipients make the difficult transition from junior to senior level through support for equipment, specialist coaching or travel and importantly help build the athletes’ confidence and self esteem through recognition.

The majority of the British athletics Olympic teams in 2008, 2012 and 2016 had at some stage of their careers received support from the Fund, including all of the London 2012 and 2016 individual Olympic athletics medallists.
