On Monday 17 September Xuelin and I will set out to walk from Beijing to Caofeidian Technical School in Hebei Province. The purpose to seek to raise funds for disadvantaged young people both in China and the UK to have access to education and training leading to work.

We first visited Caofeidian Technical School in 2016 to host a 'Walk your Dream' event with students and staff (see pic below). We struck up an instant friendship and agreed to come back and do a longer walk with students. This walk is the result of that pledge.   

For the past 7 years Xuelin and I have undertaken a walk for charity with a particular focus on children and young people. We have walked over 8000 miles in 25 countries and Xuelin has raised over £500,000 for good causes. 

The walk this year will be our shortest ever--200 miles but rather than walking alone we will be sharing the journey with some of those young people who will be benefiting from the funds raised and that will make it very special and enjoyable.

This year we are splitting our fundraising so that friends in China can support the scholarship fund being established by Caofeidian Technical School and friends in the UK can support the work of The Prince's Trust.

Our aim is to raise a total of £150,000 for the two charities. Your help towards this target is hugely appreciated.
