We Raise funds for Dorchester Festival to support Dorchester Abbey and Restore

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am raising funds for the Dorchester Festival which supports Dorchester Abbey and Sue Ryder by abseiling the 100ft tall Abbey tower.

I last abseiled on a school trip to Snowdonia in about 1981. I am not keen on heights.

Thank you for your support!

Here are some examples of what Sue Ryder could do with your donation:

£5 could provide a memory box for a bereaved child. They can store sentimental trinkets inside to help them cope with their loss.

£12 could pay for four hand-held fans so patients can self-manage breathlessness caused by some cancer treatments.

£18 is the average value of a bag of donated items sold in our shops.

£23 could pay for an hour of befriending. Befrienders are there to talk, listen or simply sit beside someone who is feeling lonely.

£40 could buy a TENS machine, a non-drug treatment to help patients control pain.

£50 could pay for an advice session for families. Our family support teams offer advice on everything from financial worries to future care.

£100 could pay for a visit from our clinical nurse specialists. They work closely with families, GPs and community teams to ensure patients receive expert care personalised to their needs.

£150 could ensure a Hospice at Home nurse has a mobile working bag with all the kit they need to care for someone out in the community.

£500 could pay for a bed for a day of inpatient care for a hospice patient.

£2,500 could buy a pressure-relieving mattress to ensure patients are as comfortable as possible when movement is limited.

£8000 Pays for Nettlebed Hospice for a Day
