At Asthma + Lung UK, our vision is for a world where everyone has healthy lungs. From research and campaigning to advice and support, as the UK’s lung charity we’re on a mission to change the way that lung health is perceived. Because breath is life - and that’s worth fighting for.

Story

Following the success of last year's event in which 180 players of all ages took part and donations in excess of £10,000 were raised for Asthma UK, we will be holding the 2nd Michael Uriely Memorial Chess Tournament on Sunday May 7, 2017.

This will mark Michael's 11th Birthday and we are once again looking to bring together Michael’s greatest passions: friends, chess and sport.

As in last year, the tournament will be split into three sections, designed to cater for all levels, children and adults alike, with great prizes; in-between the rounds there will be other fun activities.

The fantastic amount raised last year was used to help fund a promising research that has the potential to make a lasting difference to millions of lives, and this year we are once again teaming up with Asthma UK with all registration fees to be directed to a cause that we will mutually agree on together with the charity.

Further details about the tournament and how to register, and about the asthma research, can be found on www.michaeluriely.org.

We very much look forward to seeing you there and thank you for visiting this page.
