I'm shaving my hair off on the 19th of July in memory of my brother on his 21st birthday and to also raise awareness on the rare flu that he had which sadly took his life.

on the 4th of Feb 2017 my younger brother and dad both got rushed into hospital with a rare flu and pneumonia.

Sadly my younger brother didn't fight this flu and gained his wings on the 6th of Feb. our dad (Michael) was in hospital for over 3 weeks fighting the same flu. Macauleys symptoms started a few days before he got took into hospital, it started off as common flu like symptoms untill the 3rd which was when he started coughing up blood he had planned to go the doctors the following monday but sadly he took a turn for the worse over night which led to him being rushed into hospital early hours saturday morning, macauley was that weak that when he got to hospital they put him straight onto a life support machine we want to raise awareness of this rare type flu called "Influenza Flu". It's always made aware for the elderly and toddlers but most young adults are never really aware of how serious a flu can be. Macauley was a such an out going young lad we never expected anything like this to happen specially caused by the flu... he was always out going and into his music.His passing has definitely  left a huge hole in our hearts. Everything that is donated to this shave is going to the ICU Ward at Glan Clwyd Hospital. The staff that looked after macauley were amazing we can't thank them enough for what they did and how well they looked after our dad too. We hope to raise money for the ward to help towards any facilities they need to look in to and learn more about influenza flu because its that rare its not heard of, we would love to change that and make everyone aware, because maybe if we were aware macauley could of had a fighting chance... I cant thank anyone enough for their donations and time to read this story.
