MK 20 mile run & the 3 peaks challenge · 6 March 2016

Lakelands Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support services for people living with cancer and heart failure. Our aim is to enhance the quality of life for those in need and their loved ones at a time of crisis and beyond in an environment that provides tranquillity, support and care.

Story

I originally set myself two challenges, to run 20 miles and complete the three peaks challenge.  Having now completed the first,  (to run 20 miles as part of the Milton Keynes festival of running) I have added another challenge, to run a full marathon (26.2 miles).

Audrey Gatens has agreed to run the Manchester Asics Marathon with me on 10th April 2016.

My final challenge will be in September.  I will be joining a team of people all supporting Lakeland's Day Care Hospice.  We'll be attempting to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours.  This will involve travelling 1000 miles between the three peaks and climbing/descending them within a 24 hour period. We'll be walking overnight and surviving on a little sleep in a cramped mini bus!
