Cycle South Africa · 10 March 2017 to 19 March 2017 ·

Transaid transforms lives through safe, available, and sustainable transport. As an international development organisation that shares transport expertise with partners and governments, Transaid empowers people to build the skills they need to transform their own lives.

Story

In March 2017, Jen, Andree, Mike and Mark from Microlise will take on "Cycle South Africa", a tough challenge that will see the group cycle over 450km across four days in extreme heat and on difficult terrain.

Microlise have covered the cost of the trip so every penny raised will go directly to Transaid to support their efforts in saving lives and improving standards in some of the poorest areas of Africa and other developing nations.

Transaid is an international transport development charity, working across the developing world to improve transport standards and infrastructure in countries like Uganda, Malawi and Tanzania.

An example of a recent project was the introduction of bicycle ambulances to take pregnant mothers, in need of medical attention, to the nearest hospital. Without such a project, access to such medical assistance was impossible. Visit to understand the impact - https://vimeo.com/124822862.
