Story
480 miles. 5 epic days. 2 sore legs and one sore bum...
In memory of my amazing Auntie Anne, I will be running the London Marathon on the 28th April and cycling from Frodsham to Ullapool on the 28th July.
I ran the London Marathon in 2014 and it was one of the hardest, yet most rewarding and amazing things I have ever done. This year it will mean SO much more.
After the marathon me and my dad, Dave Cooper will be tackling the cycling challenge!
The ride is a little bit more unique. It will start in Frodsham and end four days later in Ullapool, in the North West Highlands of Scotland. Anne lived in Ullapool and would regularly make the massive slog down here to see her family, so it seems a fitting tribute to make the slog up there in her memory. ON A BIKE. Wind, rain or shine.
My Auntie Anne was the most amazing lady. She was kind, thoughtful, the life and soul of every party, mischievous and downright hilarious. Always laughing, even right til the end. Losing her to cancer last year has left a huge hole in our family and we are lucky to have each other.
When a little extra help and support has been needed, MAGGIES HIGHLANDS have stepped in. Even a year on, they’ve continued to provide care and support to the family.
Maggies are charity based and rely solely on donations to operate, so I want to give something back.
Please give what you can. Even a couple of quid will do! The bigger cancer charities are amazing, but the unsung heroes at MAGGIES HIGHLANDS deserve a little attention too.
Thanks for reading. Now go click ‘DONATE’ and pray for my sore bum!
