Mike will be cycling from Italy across West Africa to raise money for Yes to Life and embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Mike has always loved traveling and wanted to take on a long cycle so when he recently visited Spain and saw the glittering rooftops of Morocco in the distance he hatched what many have decried as a mad plan, to cycle West Africa.

He sets of from Italy in September with two other cycle enthusiasts who are heading the same way and will spend 6 to 9 months navigating some of the most challenging and interesting terrain on the planet. Through desert and jungle, skirting potholes and herds of goats, seeking the shade of mango trees and the pleasure of conversations in bad French he is traveling a route most people would choose to take in a 4x4. Adventure might be too mild a word…
