For my 55th marathon, I have chosen to raise money for LSO Moving Music (http://lso.co.uk/moving-music). Using cutting edge technology, this project aims to capture LSO performances and to share them with people around the world, many of whom otherwise wouldn't have the chance to experience the thrill of a live symphony orchestra.

This project will transform the scope of the LSO Discovery programme (http://lso.co.uk/lso-discovery), which is the London Symphony Orchestra's community and music education programme. It's a cause I am passionate about, having run the London Marathon for the LSO in 2008.

The LSO is set apart from other international orchestras by the depth of its commitment to music education, reaching over 60,000 people each year. LSO Moving Music will bring musical experiences to a further 100,000 young people each year.

LSO Moving Music has the chance to secure £3 million of new funding from Arts Council England on the condition that it raises £6 million itself. This means your donation will be matched by half, raising more money for this inspiring project.

LSO Moving Music is an LSO Endowment Trust campaign so all funds raised as part of Moving Music will be invested by the Trust to secure the brightest possible future for the LSO.
