First and foremost Meir Panim feeds Israel's hungry children, families and Holocaust survivors. Unfortunately 1.7m Israelis - equivalent to 22% of the population - live below the poverty line.

Story

I am fundraising for Manna, formerly the UK branch of Meir Panim.

Manna aim to help alleviate poverty in Israel. At present 1.6 million people in Israel, out of a total population of little more than 8.5 million live below the poverty line. This includes several hundred thousand children. Children like 8 year-old Tammy. Tammy often gets a glass of water for breakfast. She also goes to school without anything for lunch and has to share her friend Ayala's fruit of if she's lucky, a bit of her sandwich.

The one solid meal Tammy's family get each day is from Meir Panim, the organisation for which Manna is the UK branch. You can help make make a real difference to put challah on the tables of Israeli families for Shabbat, to deliver a hot meal to a Holocaust survivor and to provide a needy child's lunch. All money raised from this charity game will help those in need.

In 2014 Manna helped to ensure that

7,850 Food Shopping Cards were distributed to those who are poor and hungry,

4,700 food packages were delivered before Pesach and Rosh Hashanah,

4 After School Clubs were attended by 295 hungry children.

362,000 hot meals were served at our network of 6 Food Centres.

93,000 Meals on Wheels were delivered and

81,000 hot lunches were distributed to schools and After School Clubs.
