My Son has severe dyslexia, he hides it well, so well we didn't identify it until late last year. Since then we have been fighting for his assessments and then fighting for council funding to give him the extra support he needs.  Ben thankfully is still positive, other kids are not so lucky. They go unnoticed, ignored , written off. Ben and those others need extra support and different teaching techniques.


SOS!SEN helped us immensely with advice. We have now secured funding through the Local education authority and Ben will go to a specialist Dyslexia school. The process has been lengthy and complicated. Local authorities often delay and put applicants off, often they don't know their own legal obligations.


SOS!SEN are based in West Molesey but offer nationwide support with a large group of volunteers running face to face advice centres, answering helplines and providing vital legal advice, but they need support. No one gets paid, but they have to maintain offices, phone lines, advertising etc. Michaela now volunteers with them, helping other parents get special education needs support for their children.

Any money you can donate will make a real, direct difference, meaning SOS!SEN can support more families through the legal minefield and ensure their children get the extra support, education and chances in life they deserve !
