Story

As you all know I'm mummy to Hugo. Hugo has just reached the fabulous age of 9! Not bad for a kid who was born so desperately ill I thought that I'd never bring him home. Even more of a milestone but today (18th January) marks 5 years since his lifesaving ( and 3rd) heart surgery!

Everyone who knows Hugo knows he has an extensive routine and spends a lot of time in and out of hospital. We find it very lucky that our local hospital is Hinchingbrooke and we are under the brilliant Children's unit and Holly Ward. Last year I did some fundraising for them by running a 10k, my first ever run after just a few months running.

Now to better that.........

I'm going to attempt to run the Cambridge Half Marathon. I'm a novice runner and I've had a slight hiatus from my running to have a baby, but I'm determined to pound the pavements of my favourite city to raise a few pennies and help the team who help us.

Please help me make this possible and sponsor me, I'm not asking to raise lots, I just want to be able to give something back.

Dreamdrops have done lots to help families like mine. They provide equipment for children like Hugo who needs a sats monitor to check his oxygen levels and heart rate overnight while he's sleeping. They provide equipment the children's ward can't fund on the NHS, toys for the inpatients, tea and coffee for the parents on the ward, nice bright Childrens plates and cutlery for the children to use when in hospital. You'd be surprised how much you take for granted when your on a ward being looked after if your child is ill or in need of an operation.

Even if youonly  have a spare £1 please donate and help me to give back some money to this wonderful charity so close to my heart.

About the charity

Dreamdrops aims to make life a little easier when it can be at it's most stressful by providing all those little (and large) extras that are not covered by public funds. The charity's work doesn't just stop at the hospital door, as funds are also used to help sick children cared for at home.
