City of Sanctuary Sheffield is a local charity working to create a culture of welcome and hospitality for refugees and asylum-seekers in Sheffield. They are fund-raising to open a Welcome Centre in the city centre, where new arrivals can come for information, advice and support. If you imagine arriving in a foreign city having fled terrible conditions, perhaps not being able to speak the language and without any belongings, you can see how important this centre will be for people arriving in Sheffield.
