We support families in rural Africa to learn more, grow more and sell more.

Story

We are cycling the breadth of England and Walking the breadth of Wales, raising money for Send a Cow. After, the baton will be passed on to cycle Lands End to John O'Groats.

Send a Cow is a International Development charity with a difference. They've helped 1.3 million people work their way out of extreme poverty by providing livestock, tools, seeds and training, giving people the hope and means to establish a future for themselves, their families and their wider communities - see some of their great work here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNe8g-nRiEU .

This year is the 50th anniversary of BCVA (the British Cattle Veterinary Association) and to celebrate, it is aiming to raise £50,000 for Send a Cow.

We are a team from both the Nottingham Vet School and McMurtry and Harding Vets who are relaying across England for this great cause. The route is almost 200 miles and we'll do it over 2 days:

  1. The Wash to Uttoxeter: 106 miles, lead by Reuben Newsome of Notts Vet School (currently alone, with support joining after 70 miles)
  2. Uttoxeter to Anchor on the boarder of Wales: 87 miles, lead by McMurtry and Harding Vets

We'll then pass the baton (a Lions rugby shirt) to Christianne Glossop who will walk with it to the coast. Please help us contribute to this great cause, helping communities through introducing and developing agriculture.
