We support local NHS hospitals and services to help provide care above and beyond!

Story

The community mental health allotment is a volunteer-led
project in Wellingborough which started in autumn 2016 alongside the
therapist-led groups run by the occupational therapy service within the
Planned Care and Recovery Team.

Although in its infancy, the project is being designed to
provide all weather therapeutic horticultural opportunities for all seasons.

The aim is to give opportunity for those having required
treatment by the planned care and recovery team to engage in regular outdoor
activity to promote better physical and mental health and gain a sense of
wellbeing through producing and consuming fresh home grown food.

To help raise funds whilst in the set up phase, a fundraising group has come together.

The Runner Beans have signed up for a 5K inflatable
obstacle run and would appreciate your support by sponsoring the team of 10 to complete the course.

We hope that through fundraising this year we can fund  the completion of the poly tunnels and purchase tools, seeds, compost and pots etc to sustain this project throughout the year.
