Story
In April 2017, my Dad was diagnosed with skin cancer which had spread to his lymph nodes, however following surgeries and radiotherapy, Dad was given the all clear in December 2017. In April 2018, a routine follow-up scan detected the cancer returned, and he has been given a terminal diagnosis.Macmillan have been providing support for my family during this difficult time, which is why I have decided to take part in fundraising events to raise money for a charity which now plays a huge role in my families lives.
I will be running the Lincoln Run for All 10k on 1st July, Nottingham Run For All 10k on 12th August, and the Sheffield Run For All 10k on 23rd September, to hopefully raise at least £500 for Macmillan. I understand cancer is a disease which affects so many lives, so I hope the money I raise goes a little way in enabling Macmillan to provide support for other families facing similar heartbreaking diagnosis's. This is just one of the ways in which I hope to turn this negative news into something more positive and inspiring. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to visit my JustGiving page and read my story. And a huge thank you in advance to anyone who donates.
