Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Addison's Disease is something that has affected my family through my younger sister Kelli. Kelli was diagnosed with it in 2009 after she was taken seriously ill and admitted to hospital. Addison's is a rare potentially fatal condition where the adrenal glands cease to function. People with Addison's require life-long, daily treatment with replacement steroid hormones.
It was a long battle and climb to get where Kelli is today and the rarity of the disease is what caused a lot of those problems. Kelli is in great health today and that is down to the fantastic medical teams at a number of local hospitals around North Wales and England which included The Countess of Chester and Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
All donations, no matter how large or small, are much appreciated and valued by the myself and the ADSHG Foundation and will go towards funding their work to support members and people with adrenal insufficiency and towards promoting better understanding of this rare condition amongst health professionals.
This charity offers help and advise to those living with Addisons's Disease, and thier families. Here is the link to the charities website if you would like more information: http:/www.addisons.org.uk
