The Rhys Daniels Trust provides 'Home from Home' style accommodation close to specialist children's hospitals throughout the UK. These 'Homes' enable families to stay together during the distressing time when their child is receiving long-term life saving treatment.

Story

Nations House have chosen Rhys Daniels Trust as their site charity and would appreciate any donations, big or small.

The Rhys Daniels Trust is a charity that provides free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation near hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child whilst their child receives treatment for a serious or life-threatening illness. The 'Homes' are designed to provide the perfect environment for children and their families at such a stressful time. This charity was set up by Barry Daniels, after his son Rhys and his daughter Charly died from Battens Disease – a neuro-degenerative illness that took both of their lives before the age of ten. Rhys was the first Batten's child in the world to receive a bone marrow transplant in the hope that it would prevent him developing the disease. Following a second bone marrow transplant, Rhys tragically lost his battle.
