Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In April 2016 our dear friend and cycling team mate Mark "Rocky" Rogers lost his toughest battle and is no longer with us.   During his final weeks Rocky received wonderful care at the Pembroke Suite, Salisbury District Hospital and we are looking to raise funds to enable them to continue providing this care to others in their time of need.

In his memory we will be riding from Salisbury Rugby Club to Grenoble, a distance of approximately 520 miles, before launching an assault on the infamous 21 hairpin bends that make the Alpe D'Huez one of the most feared climbs in Road Cycling.  We will be encouraged and comforted on our odyssey by the knowledge that although Rocky is not physically with us, he is in spirit, not least during the evenings!

The team consists of cyclists Denis Bayle, Jeremy Daniels, Tim Gault, Mike Green, Graham Hillier, Don Mackenzie, Dave Murley, Pete Rattue, Cameron Stott, Chris Stott, Stephen Taylor, Naomi Tonge, Neil Tonge and Pat Vaughan, and will be supported throughout by Alex Ferguson and Trevor Kay.

We ask that you make a contribution, large or small, in memory of our friend, a truly wonderful bloke.  Thank you.
