Story

In July 2013 Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour, three years later on 9 July 2016 he died, I miss him every day. You can see him above on his last birthday by which time he was really quite unwell

Living in Greenwich has meant I have always wanted to run the London marathon and I have been lucky (?) enough to be given the opportunity to do so by a wonderful charity Brain Tumour Research.  Its goal is to find a cure by building a network of experts in sustainable brain tumour research.

Despite the fact that brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

It costs £2740 a day to fund a scientist at one of four dedicated research centres.  I am therefore raising funds to pay for such research.

Dad’s story appears on the Brain Tumour Research website under stories/in our hearts. You can view it here http://bit.ly/malcolmhill

I shall be running with my husband Chris Holmes whose father died from a Stroke just 11 weeks after we lost Dad.  Chris is running for The Stroke Association.

Thank you for your encouragement so far and in advance for your support both through contributions and on the day.  I am very humbled and extremely grateful.

Thank you

Nicola
