Just over a year ago, I lost my first baby to a silent miscarriage. This was absolutely devastating for us, but shortly after we found out we were expecting again with a little boy. It was a worrying time what with what had previously happened and not a smooth ride either! I needn't have worried about meeting him though, as he decided he couldn't wait to meet us either! James Michael decided to come into the world two months prematurely...

James was tiny when he was born and was unable to even feed. He had to stay a month in hospital before we could take him home, but during this time, James picked up strength and grew very quickly and healthily to which we are so so thankful. James suffered no complications at all.

Although this was the case, during our month in and out of hospital, we encountered so many less fortunate couples than us, whose babies were extremely poorly due to their premature births. It was so heart-breaking to see and so it is this which made my husband and I realise just how much we wanted to give something back... We want to support as many other premature babies and their families as we possibly can by raising money to research ways to prevent PPROM. (Waters prematurely rupturing.) This is what causes up to 70% of premature births.
