It’s not often I commit to something as utterly crazy as the Virgin London Marathon (yea... ok, it is - but I never ask for sponsorship) this time, for the first time ever ...  I am. 

For those who know me,  you’ll know I’m not a runner and this is has been a massive challenge, both mentally and physically. Last May (2018) I could only run for 3 minutes 😂 so naturally I thought the next step was a marathon!! 🤔😳

I was lucky to get a ballot place, so I could choose a charity that means a lot to me, which is why I’m asking if you can spare a few quid to help support the *SFRS Family Support Trust* 

The Trust helps to support the people of the Fire Service... those people who we often take for granted because we know they are just on the end of a phone should we ever need them!!

These are the people that work tirelessly within our communities to keep us safe, the teams that run towards us in a crisis and will be there to help us at what is possibly the very worst of times -  and they are there 24hours a day, 7 days a week, every single day... 

So this run and this fundraising is to offer some respect back to my amazing colleagues, to offer a thanks to their families, not just those on the ground, but everyone who makes up our SFRS. 

And also, to support the Family Support Trust who are there ... when the people that help us - when we need them the most,  need some support themselves
