Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

11th October 2010: Summit Conquered!!

Yes, we did it! Absolute fantastic experience - and achievement.

Conditions on the Mountain were varied with changing climates - humid rain-forrest to arctic temperatures within 7days. 32 sherpa's supported our team of ten via the very challenging 'Machame route'.

Headaches were a common iritent - but thankfully the team didn't suffer with altitude sickness (thanks to the help of the wonder-drug that is: Diamox!)

After a very exhausting summit day - that saw us trekking for 19hrs & missing a nights sleep, we rested at our final camp before returning back to the hotel - a 2hr drive in Moshi.

...Now back in the UK and looking back at what was an incredible, humble & unique experience. The team are now forever united with the greatest memories that will remain a special moment for a life time.

Thank you for your support. The team's total amount raised=£15,000. Fantastic!! x

Challenge:

To reach the 19,340ft summit of Kilimanjaro - Africa's highest peak, the Worlds tallest free-standing mounting. 10 Days. over 100km. Extreme conditions.

...All in aid of a Charity that supports the sacrifice of those who harvest our oceans

Deep sea fishing is the UK’s most dangerous peacetime occupation and on average each year 25 UK vessels sink and over 68 fishermen are killed or seriously injured. So in this celebration of 150yrs of Fish & Chips, the money raised by the Kilimanjaro challenge shall help to support the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen whom work to offer financial, practical and emotional support, including bereavement counselling to the families of fishermen lost at sea, and so much more…

Please support me - to help others...

All donations shall be very much appreciated.

Thank You.
