I have been accepted as a participant and will be running in this years WHW Ultra Marathon.  The race takes place over 24-25 June 2017 and is one of the worlds longest established Ultra Marathons, covering 96 miles with over 14,000 feet of ascent, starting at Milngavie (just North of Glasgow) to Fort William.  Entry is restricted to 265 runners, participants are drawn from across the world and we will set off in darkness at 1:00am on the Saturday morning and we are allowed 35 hours to complete the race .

Each runner is required to have a motorised back-up team of at least two, one of whom must be capable, if needed, of accompanying   the runner on the last two stages.  I have asked Kirsty Gaffney  to be my support runner and my wife Margaret Neilson and Donna McKnight will share the driving to meet me at check points.  

All monies raised within the Dalbeattie D&G post code area will be spent in the area.
