35 years ago I attended a training weekend on Drake's Island in Plymouth Sound with the Ocean Youth Club, they later became the Ocean Youth Trust; one of many events that formed my love of the great outdoors.  In November 2016 I bumped in to the instructor that I had met in Plymouth and recognized him!  He very gently twisted my arm to become a member of their volunteer sea staff.

As volunteer sea staff I see at first hand the work the trust does in getting young people from all walks of life and from all levels of ability on the water.  As I give my time and skill to the charity I thought I would try and raise something towards bursaries for young people who could not otherwise afford to sail, the charity does not charge the full amount to young people.
