Story

Sponsor a Guinness World Record in aid of wildlife and conservation!!!

Raising vital funds for Born Free and the future of our planet, the children of S. Anselm's School are working with Bamfords Auctioneers to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the world's longest auction.

The Longest Auction by a single auctioneer Guinness World Record attempt will begin at Bamfords Auctioneers in Rowsley at 6.30 pm on Friday 21st June and end at a spectacular evening event at Holme Hall, Bakewell on June 22nd with the finale auction of 50 spectacular lots alongside fabulous entertainment.

The Guinness World Record attempt kicks off at 6.30pm with the fine jewellery and watches auction. At 10.00pm the collectable, ceramics, pictures and prints auction starts and runs throughout the night. Bamfords country house and oak auction then follows from 10.00am on the 22nd June. Finally the auction moves to Holme Hall at 7pm for the Spectacular Finale hosted by Virginia McKenna.

Please come along to bid and support - James and the children will need your support throughout the night. There will be refreshments available at a small cost with all proceeds going to BornFree.

Children can sign up to participate and collect sponsorship by taking part in the following, age-appropriate roles where they will be supported by Bamfords full time experienced staff:

● Salesroom assistants – holding small items up for viewers to see.
● Telephone bidding - speaking to clients who cannot attend the auction in person and relaying their bids to the auctioneer.
● Porters – fetching and carrying items to bring up to the rostrum.
● Internet bidding - operating the live internet sites to enable bidders from all across the world to bid at the auction.
● Helping to serve refreshments (cakes, teas, coffees).

The Out Of Africa project will enable the children to learn about other cultures, wildlife conservation and caring for our planet, and ultimately feel empowered for change.

Many thanks for your support.  The children and wildlife across the world appreciate your donation.
