Starting on the 9th June over 4 days we will be cycling 400 miles from our Arval office at Rueil mal Maison to Arval Swindon finishing on Monday 12th June the team of Jim Patrick, Graham Paton, Mandy Pilsworth, Matt Mason, Christopher Moore, Brian Seery, Karen Tait, Claire Birt, Nick Knight, Simon McMeekan, Brian Read, Jennifer Saunders, Adele Tidball, Ian Joseph, Vicky Mclean, Rayner De Souza, Camillo Toro and Keith Williams and support being provided by Andrea Sawford, Joanna Reed, Kamel Assous, Nick Barrett and Claire Hughes.

One rider taking part in the event wrote

My Father had been an active man all his life, working outdoors on the farm and later transitioning from driving lorries to office work in his later 40s.  He walked regularly and was always out in the garden. In his early 60s he was diagnosed with diabetes which affected his eyesight.  It is widely known that diabetes increases the risk of heart attack but he was not diagnosed as being high risk, he was monitored and was advised that his condition could be managed by diet.

This situation continued until the evening of the 19th July 2012 when he suffered a massive heart attack which proved fatal. The Post Mortem identified that he had been suffering from Heart Disease for several years.

Through the BHF research and education programmes it is known that diagnosis and monitoring of heart diseases and related conditions can be improved to reduce unnecessary deaths.
