Paddle & Picnic for Parkinson's · 15 September 2019

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

I have been teaching Yoga twice a week for over 10 years at SportsAble in Maidenhead to people with Parkinson's from their 50's to their 90's ( some of  like John, Hilda and Nancy have been there from the start) and I am so inspired by their positive attitude and humour. They embrace life with all it's challenges  and they are up for 'most things'! I work them hard in their 'yoga' classes which including galloping  through the fields, ball skills and weight training and some of them each week participant in a Sporty Friday of table tennis, badminton and sometimes boxing!

We are  inviting family and friends to hire paddle boards on Sunday 29 Sept.  and go for a paddle for the first time.  'Sandra & Agnes' ( 2 of students from the class) with enough support (money)  will join the **SUP Yoga class** and anyone can book in for the SUPolo class at the end of the day. 100% of the day hiring and sponsorship money will go to our local **Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead** branch as a contribution  that make it possible to have our Yoga and Sporty Fridays at  a low cost and puts on other social events for the people in the community with Parkinson's throughout the year. If you want to 'Paddleboard for Parkinons' but can't make this date, please let me know when you can and you can still go out before it turns too cold!

So please do support us, come and picnic with us at the top of Ray Mill Island  in Maidenhead, whilst the paddle boards come in and out and invite your kids and grandchildren to be there on the day too and they can have a go also.

To  reserve a board use the link blow and book  a SUP board and then make your payment on this site, so you can be rest assured all money goes straight to our local branch.(https://bookwhen.com/whatsup66) scroll down to 29th Sept & book yourself or a friend or family !! See you on the river   Tara x
