Our son Patrick was born at 24 weeks and one day on September 11th 2016. He faced numerous hurdles whilst in the care  of the doctors and nurses in the NICU Royal Maternity hospital Belfast, including multiple surgeries. In total Patrick spent 148 days in NICU from September 2016 to February 2017. 

We would like to support the work done in the NICU by raising money for the Perinatal Trust . The Trust produces and supports research being conducted into premature births and new treatments and medications for very sick babies.

To raise money we are asking friends and relatives to donate money they would spend on Patrick's Christmas presents to the Northern Ireland Perinatal Trust so that they can continue their ground breaking research and help save more babies like Patrick .

We also hope that others will support this cause  and help us to thank the NICU and fund future research - we are grateful for all donations, big and small . 

Patrick is progressing well now, meeting all his developmental milestones, but without the care and medical resources available in the NICU he would not be with us to enjoy his first Christmas at home this year.
