We provide life-enhancing support to the UK's fire & rescue community.

Story

I am a Firefighter who works for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.

I am running the 26.2 mile 2017 London Marathon wearing full Fire Kit and Breathing Apparatus weighing a total of 25kg equivalent to 4 stone for The Fire Fighters Charity.

I am dedicating this challenge to a good friend and colleague of mine, Firefighter Glyn Robinson who has his own challenge of fighting illness. Glyn is being supported by The Fire Fighters Charity and in particular Jubilee House which is a state of the art rehabilitation centre for Firefighters and their family members. This is a free service for the users but the charity needs to raise over £9 million each year to provide this invaluable service and support to injured Fire personnel.

My target is to raise at least £2000 for the Charity. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and donated to this life changing charity for Firefighters of the UK.

About the charity

The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist lifelong health & wellbeing support for the UK fire & rescue community, empowering individuals and families to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives. This includes serving and retired firefighters, control and support teams.
