Story

This is me with my Mam Helen and my Dad Paul Van-Zandvliet, for those of you who do not know my dad he was a GREAT RUGBY PLAYER for Newcastle Falcons when they won the Premier League
Title, well before I was Born. My Dad coached many players in the Area where we live in North Shields, its about 8 miles from Newcastle upon Tyne. Until on 18th of February 2016 he was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Brain Tumour and abnormalities in his Kidney and Liver, He had surgery on his brain Tumour and it was removed, although he has lost his feeling down his right hand side he still Trains Rugby Players at our local Club, The Doctors say that my DAD only has 18 months to Live, but YOU! DONT KNOW MY DAD, he is One in a BILLION.

My Aim is too improve the survival chances of other sufferers of this HORRIBLE DISEASE which is presently INCURABLE and there is no light at the end of the tunnel, there are no words of REMISSION, at the end of treatment that can be brutal and many sufferers can die before the end of treatments or have server handicaps through surgeries, but I live in HOPE that I can do some good in the time I have left, I have already been diagnosed for some 6 months so I have a year to MAKE A CHANGE, hopefully for my family I might go on longer, I have already set up a Just-giving page for my other charities, Newcastle Hospitals Trust RVI and Freeman Hospital whom have been EXCELLENT with my care A GREAT INSTITUTE that is the NHS, RESTART the Rugby Players that have been so supportive and helped me come to terms with my illness. I will always support these charities but I have decided to put my energies in to making people aware of BRIAN TUMOURS which only receives 1% of all Government funding into CANCER Studies and Research, This is unacceptable for the many Thousands of people given a DEATH SENTENCE on diagnosis mostly people under the age of 40 and Teenagers.

Now for the good part I thank you all and ask you all to give as generously as you can!  You are such a great Nation of Givers I thank You all so much for your SUPPORT I am asking and setting my GOAL High, £1000 for every year of my life, I will let you decide My lasting Legacy, THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE SUPPORT, please feel free to Share my Story!  Thanks Paul & Family

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
